Audubon Building (Saint Hotel)
Canal St. New Orleans, LA
The Saint Hotel is a ten-story structure with a concrete frame built in the early twentieth century. The structure has unique decorative elements on the exterior. Lathan restored the terracotta panels, decorative cornice work, and replicated the stone banding at street level with a blend of real and synthetic granite formed on-site. The ornate architectural cornice contains a blend of stamped metal shelf brackets, corbelled brick and tablature, and terracotta rosettes. All of these decorative elements were restored or replicated to bring the building back to its 1913 appearance.
